Distance/Displacement

Both these words are alike but don't have the same meaning. Distance is how much you walk/move while displacement is how far away you are from your starting position. An example of distance is like the distance of my house to the school. If I go a different direction each time that means I will have a different distance each time. The displacement is the actual  length of the school to my house, the path never matters.
